Russia Claims Successful Interception of 9 Ukrainian Drones Over Its Territory

Moscow: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems shot down nine Ukrainian drones overnight over various regions of Russia.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry detailed in a press release that four drones were intercepted over Rostov Oblast, two each over Bryansk Oblast and Crimea Oblast, and one over Voronezh Oblast.

The Ministry further claimed that the Ukrainian army suffered significant losses in the past 24 hours, including more than 180 soldiers, four armored vehicles, 19 other vehicles, and four artillery pieces. Additionally, four ammunition depots were reportedly destroyed.

Russia and Ukraine continue to exchange reports of damages inflicted on the opposing side, although these claims remain unverified due to the ongoing conflict. Diplomatic initiatives led by the United States persist in an effort to broker a ceasefire and bring an end to the hostilities that began in February 2022.
