Doha: Russia's Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that its air defense systems shot down 36 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory overnight.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, the ministry said that 18 drones were destroyed over the Kursk region and 13 over the Rostov region.

It added that two drones were intercepted over the Belgorod region, two more over the Oryol region, and one over the Krasnodar region.

Since the start of the war in February 2022, both Russia and Ukraine have regularly reported intercepting each other's aerial attacks. However, these claims cannot be independently verified due to the ongoing conflict.
