Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, stands out as the keystone of regional security, at a time when “the world needs peace and people of peace more than ever”, said the founder of the Crans-Montana Forum (FCM), Jean-Paul Carteron.
“We must count on Morocco and work with it for peace and stability”, stressed Carteron in a statement to MAP following the Sovereign’s speech to the Nation on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of His enthronement.
Regarding the relations between Morocco and Algeria, the diplomat highlighted the regrettable and perplexing hardening of Algeria’s stance. Despite this, His Majesty King Mohammed VI has consistently and tirelessly positioned himself as a man of peace, consistently extending a hand of friendship to the neighboring country, he emphasized.
“All informed observers of African affairs know and realize that the old Sahara conflict no longer makes sense, and that the Moroccanness of a Moroccan land is not a serious subject of controversy”, he stressed. The United States, followed by Israel, he said, “have just made the demonstration that should be made by every state in the world”.
For the founder of the FCM, there can be no doubt that Algeria’s younger generation “will understand the interest of the two brotherly countries in establishing normal, friendly and cooperation relations,” which according to him will result in an enormous economic potential.
“Thanks to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, it’s no longer a question of whether it will happen, but simply when it will happen,” concluded Carteron.
