Royal Navy Assists 27 Sub-Saharan Irregular MigrantsMikdad discusses with Egyptian, Lebanese, UAE and Tunisia counterparts bilateral relations

Rabat – A Royal Navy patrol boat intercepted, on Tuesday, 183 km south-west of Dakhla, a pirogue carrying 27 sub-Saharan irregular migrants.

The pirogue, which had intended to reach the Canary Islands, set sail on February 29, according to a statement by the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.

The rescued people received first aid on board, before being taken safely back to the Port of Dakhla and handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures, the same source added.

Cairo, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, continued his meetings with a number of his counterparts participating in the meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level in Cairo.

Minister Mikdad discussed with Sameh Shukri, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Abdullah Bou Habib, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Lebanon, and Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs,Nabil Ammar, Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, bilateral relations and ways to enhance them, and developments in the situation on the regional and international arenas.

The discussions took place in a positive atmosphere, and points of view were agreed upon regarding the various issues discussed, especially the emphasis on a unified position to support the struggle of the Palestinian people in the face of the war of extermination waged by ‘Israel’ in Gaza and the West Bank, and the right of the Palestinians to establish their in
dependent state on their land with its capital. Jerusalem, and to return to their land and homes.
