Thousands of Palestinians performed Friday (Jum’ah) Prayer at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque amid tight military measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on worshipers’ arrival at the Mosque.
The Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem estimated that roughly 30,000 Palestinian worshipers performed the Friday Prayer at Al-Aqsa courtyards.
Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported that the Israeli occupation army established multiple military checkpoints on the perimeter of the Old City and the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque and embarked on vetting the worshippers identities, in addition to preventing some of them from entering the Mosque and imposing restrictions on media practitioners at the Lions’ Gate.
The Israeli occupation army continues to impose stringent measures on the worshippers’ arrival at Al-Aqsa, especially during holidays and prevent many Palestinians from performing the prayers.
Since the start of the full assault on the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in October 2023,
the occupation army has been tightening its measures at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque and entry points of the Old City.
