Rennes Clinches Victory Over Marseille in Tense Ligue 1 Opener


Rennes: Rennes kicked off their Ligue 1 campaign with a 1-0 victory over visiting Marseille on Friday. Midfielder Ludovic Blas scored the game’s only goal in the first minute of stoppage time (90+1), securing all three points for the hosts.



According to Qatar News Agency, despite playing with 10 men after defender Amine Ait Boudlal was sent off in the 31st minute, Rennes held firm and snatched the late winner. The match was evenly contested, with both sides sharing possession and chances until Blas broke the deadlock.



The opening round of the French league continues over the weekend with three matches scheduled for Saturday and five on Sunday.
