Doha: Qatar University (QU) has officially joined the Amiri Scholarship Program, starting from the Fall 2025 semester - a move reflecting its commitment to academic excellence and attracting top student talents. Vice President for Student Affairs at QU, Dr. Mohammad Diab highlighted in a press conference today the Amiri Scholarship is awarded to the top 30 academically ranked Qatari students admitted to QU. To qualify, students must get a minimum high school GPA of 95%, IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent, ACT score of 24 or equivalent, and meet the general scholarship requirements set by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Diab emphasized that with over 90 academic programs across various disciplines, most of which are accredited by prestigious international institutions, QU represents a valuable addition to this scholarship program. The university offers admitted students broad academic opportunities tailored to their aspirations, reinforcing its role as a leading institution committed to upholding the highest global educational standards.
Dr. Diab stressed the importance of the Amiri Scholarship Program for QU, as it plays a crucial role in attracting the most outstanding Qatari students, in line with the country's vision of developing a highly qualified national workforce to drive sustainable development. He said: "We are proud of QU's inclusion in the Amiri Scholarship Program, which reflects the state's vision in investing in human capital and supporting distinguished students.
Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Hareb Al Jabri, said the "QU's inclusion in the Amiri Scholarship Program is not merely a new step in the field of scholarships, but rather a reaffirmation of our steadfast commitment to advancing education and strengthening the role of our national university in shaping future leaders." The scholarship covers various undergraduate disciplines, provided students meet the respective college admission criteria. It fully covers tuition fees for admitted students and provides a monthly stipend based on the chosen major.
