QSL and ICSS Join Forces for Virtual Sports Integrity Workshop

Doha: Qatar Stars League (QSL), in collaboration with the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS), organized a virtual two-day sports integrity workshop with the participation of players and officials from Ooredoo Stars League and Second Division clubs.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Football Integrity Unit of QSL oversaw the workshop, which was primarily focused on raising awareness of match-fixing among First and Second Division clubs. The event was attended by QSL CEO Hani Taleb Ballan and ICSS CEO Massimiliano Montanari, highlighting the significance of the initiative.

The seminar provided a platform for former football players from outside Qatar to share their experiences and expertise on match-fixing awareness, emphasizing the importance of integrity and fair play in the sport. This initiative aligns with QSL’s efforts to assist clubs in meeting the requirements and prerequisites set by the Asian Football Confederation.

QSL’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in football is evident in their continued collaboration with ICSS. Last year, both organizations conducted a similar workshop addressing the dangers and consequences of tampering with match results, actions that could have severe repercussions on competition in football.
