QSE Index Rises 0.18% at Market Open

Doha: The general index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) witnessed an increase of 19.91 points, or 0.18%, as trading commenced on Monday. The index reached 10,961 points, showing a rise from the previous close.

According to Qatar News Agency, the QSE index's upward trend was bolstered by gains in five sectors, prominently led by Banks and Financial Services, which saw an increase of 0.21%. Following closely were Telecoms with a rise of 0.20%, Transportation climbing by 0.19%, Industrials up by 0.18%, and Real Estate with a slight gain of 0.02%. On the contrary, the market experienced declines in the Insurance sector, which fell by 0.17%, and Consumer Goods and Services, which saw a decrease of 0.26%.

By 10:00 am, the QSE had recorded a trading volume of 30.847 million shares. The total value of these trades amounted to QR 75.106 million, spread across 3,714 transactions.
