QSE Index Opens Lower with Mixed Sector Performances

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index experienced a decline of 12.99 points, or 0.12%, at the start of Wednesday's trading. The index fell to the level of 11,276 points compared to the previous session's closing.

According to Qatar News Agency, the market decline was influenced by reductions in three key sectors: Banks and Financial Services, which decreased by 0.07%, Consumer Goods and Services, which fell by 0.16%, and Telecoms, which dropped by 0.87%.

Conversely, several sectors demonstrated positive performance. Real Estate saw an increase of 0.31%, Industrials rose by 0.06%, Insurance experienced a slight uptick of 0.02%, and Transportation edged up by 0.01%.

By 10:00 am, the Qatar Stock Exchange reported a turnover of QR 42.671 million, with 20.675 million shares exchanged in 2,295 transactions.
