QSE Index Opens Lower with Decline Across Key Sectors


Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index experienced a decline at the start of trading on Tuesday, with a drop of 47.39 points, or 0.42%, bringing the index down to 11,158 points from the previous session’s close. The downward movement was primarily influenced by losses across three sectors.



According to Qatar News Agency, the Transportation sector led the decline with a drop of 0.43%, followed by the Banks and Financial Services sector which fell by 0.40%, and the Telecoms sector with a minor decrease of 0.02%. Despite these declines, some sectors registered gains, including Insurance which increased by 0.73%, Real Estate by 0.11%, Industrials by 0.07%, and Consumer Goods and Services by 0.01%.



By 10:00 am, the QSE recorded a trading volume of 29.874 million shares, with a total turnover of QR 55.931 million across 2,591 transactions.
