QSE Index Opens Lower as Transportation Sector Leads Decline

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index experienced a decrease of 15.67 points, or 0.14%, reaching 11,206 points at the commencement of trading on Tuesday, compared to the previous session's close.

According to Qatar News Agency, the decline was primarily driven by the Transportation sector, which saw a reduction of 0.36%. The Banks and Financial Services sector also fell by 0.25%, followed by the Insurance sector with a 0.11% drop, and the Industrials sector, which decreased by 0.09%. Conversely, the Consumer Goods and Services sector recorded a slight increase of 0.03%, the Real Estate sector grew by 0.05%, and the Telecoms sector rose by 0.01%.

By 10:00 am, QSE reported a turnover of QR 89.811 million from 42.432 million shares exchanged across 3,559 transactions.
