QSE Index Opens Lower Amid Sector Pressures

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index faced a decline of 15.79 points, or 0.14%, as trading commenced on Thursday, reducing the index to 11,369 points from the previous session's close. This downturn was influenced by pressures from four sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the market found some support through positive performances in the Insurance sector, which rose by 0.19%, and the Transportation sector, which increased by 0.09%. The Industrials sector remained unchanged. However, negative performances were observed in other sectors, with Banks and Financial Services dropping by 0.14%, Real Estate by 0.30%, Consumer Goods and Services by 0.32%, and Telecoms by 0.37%.

By 10:00 am, the trading turnover had reached QAR 44.744 million, with 12.126 million shares exchanged across 2,223 transactions.
