Doha: Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO) is set to hold the concert "Mozart y Mambo" with Sarah Willis on January 9 and 10 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). The concert is designed to take the audience on a journey to Vienna's biggest concert halls and Havana's lively streets, reflecting QPO's commitment to cultural exchange and program diversification.
According to Qatar News Agency, the event celebrates cultural closeness by introducing contemporary audiences to musical experiences that merge vibrant Latin music with European classics. This initiative positions Qatar as a center for global art by welcoming international talents and reflects the local audiences' appreciation for diverse genres of music.
Grammy-nominated artist Alastair Willis will lead the concert, presenting Mozart's Abduction from the Seraglio Overture. Sarah Willis, a member of the Berliner Philharmoniker, will merge a work of Mozart with Cuban sound in an acclaimed performance, offering a unique blend of classical and Latin flavors.
The audience will also enjoy Horn Concerto No. 3, which was completed between 1784 and 1787 in Vienna, showcasing the timeless beauty of Mozart's compositions.
