Doha: Qatar News Agency (QNA) and the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to bolster cooperation and news exchange between the two agencies.
According to Qatar News Agency, the MoU was signed by HE Director-General of QNA, Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi, representing the Qatari side, while HE CEO of IRNA, Hossein Jaberi Ansari, signed on behalf of the Iranian side. The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of HE Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the State of Qatar, Dr. Ali Salehabadi, along with several officials from both agencies.
The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between Qatar and Iran in the domain of news exchange. It intends to establish bilateral cooperation based on equality in exchanging news, photos, and video content. Additionally, the MoU outlines the provision of support and facilitation for correspondents and envoys from each agency operating within the other's territory.
During the visit, the Iranian delegation had the opportunity to tour QNA's training center, where they were briefed on the available training programs and the technical and technological capabilities of the agency. The delegation also visited the Technical Affairs Department, gaining insights into the workflow and the advanced systems employed in broadcasting and media production.
