Doha: Qatar Museums (QM) announced the December lineup of its newly launched, Architecture and Design - Turning Vision Into a Universal Dialogue programme, introduced as part of the landmark exhibition I. M. Pei: Life is Architecture at ALRIWAQ.
According to Qatar News Agency, this programme is part of a broader, ongoing initiative that convenes architects, designers, and students globally through various activities like lectures, workshops, and public events. It aims to foster cross-generational collaboration and stimulate global dialogue on modern architectural and design challenges.
Throughout December, visitors can look forward to an engaging selection of screenings organized in partnership with the Doha Film Institute, expert-led lectures, and panel discussions that aim to provide fresh insights into contemporary design landscapes.
The month kicks off on December 4 with the screening of "ButoHouse," a film by Ila Beka and Louise Lemoine. On December 8, a series of short documentaries and narratives, including "Home: And I Was Left Behind" by Maysaa Al Mumin and "Voices from the Urbanscape" by Shaima Al Tamimi and Mariam Salim, will be showcased.
December 11 will feature "Rehab From Rehab," another film by Ila Beka and Louise Lemoine. Later, on December 14, expert Elena Manferdini will conduct a lecture and discussion titled 'RGB,' exploring the influence of color in architecture and the role of AI in design, exemplified by Atelier Manferdini's upcoming Rome Opera House project.
The month concludes on December 25 with screenings of "Al Muqana3" by Tarek Abu Esber and several other documentaries and narratives, offering a diverse look into various storytelling approaches within the realm of architecture and design.
