Doha: Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF) on Sunday organized its annual traditional Marhaba event to welcome new students, marking the launch of the new academic year. Held at Multaqa (Education City Student Center), the event drew over 800 new university students who are embarking on studies within the eight universities at QF to learn about the opportunities that await them over the coming years, and what it means to be a QF student.
According to Qatar News Agency, CEO of QF, Yousif Al Naama, addressed the students, emphasizing the start of an "incredible journey" in a unique place of learning, discovery, and connection. He highlighted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of QF, celebrating three decades of nurturing future leaders and change-makers, equipping them to excel in their fields and lead fulfilling lives.
Francisco Marmolejo, President of Higher Education and Education Advisor at QF, spoke to the new students about QF's core values of 'integrity' and 'community.' He stressed that QF's efforts contribute to societal progress not only in Qatar but also across the region and the world, including the educational experiences offered.
QF's higher education ecosystem features Hamad Bin Khalifa University and seven partner universities: Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Georgetown University in Qatar, HEC Paris, Doha, Northwestern University in Qatar, Texas A and M University at Qatar, Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar, and Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar.
