Doha: QatarDebate Center (QDC), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), has successfully concluded the 7th International Arabic School Debating Championship (ISDC), bringing together school teams from across the globe.

According to Qatar News Agency, the championship's final round saw the Bahrain team emerge victorious, with Turkiye securing second place. In the Arabic language category for non-native speakers, India triumphed with first place, followed by Malaysia, highlighting the championship's role in spreading the Arabic language globally and enhancing its presence in educational settings.

During the closing ceremony, QDC recognized exceptional debaters for their performances throughout the event. Lana Al Hammoud from Syria was honored as Best Speaker in the Open category, while Safiya bint Mohammed from Singapore received the Best Speaker award in the Arabic for Non-Native Speakers category, noting their prowess in persuasion, organization, and fluency.

Dr. Hayat Abdullah Marafi, Executive Director of QDC, expressed pride in the event's success, noting its significance since its inception in 2012. She emphasized the championship's role in promoting Arabic debate culture among youth worldwide and its influence in international circles.

Marafi highlighted that debating transcends a mere cognitive contest, serving as an integrated life experience that boosts self-confidence, hones research skills, and refines students into thoughtful leaders committed to exploring truth through logical debate.
