Qatar’s Unwavering Support for Syria Highlighted in Newspaper Editorials

Doha: In their editorials on Sunday, Qatari newspapers affirmed the State of Qatar's unwavering support and solidarity with the Syrian people on all fronts, particularly in the humanitarian and relief fields. In this context, the newspapers highlighted the arrival of a team from the Qatar International Search and Rescue Group of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) at Aleppo International Airport, representing the Standing Committee for Rescue, Relief and Humanitarian Assistance. The team is assisting in combatting the wildfires affecting parts of the Latakia countryside on the Syrian coast, in addition to delivering urgent humanitarian aid to help mitigate the effects and repercussions of the fires.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Raya newspaper emphasized the distinguished fraternal relations between the State of Qatar and the Syrian Arab Republic, with the leaderships of both countries working to deepen and elevate these ties. The newspaper noted Qatar's consistent support for the Syrian people's aspirations for stability, development, and prosperity. In line with directives from HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Than, the Qatar International Search and Rescue Group has actively participated in combating the wildfires and delivering urgent humanitarian aid to affected areas.

The newspaper also pointed out Syria's expression of gratitude to Qatar during its participation in the Executive Council of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague, acknowledging Qatar's temporary representation of Syrian interests before the organization. Al-Raya reiterated Qatar's full support for Syria in all areas, contributing to regional and international efforts aimed at realizing the Syrian people's aspirations for freedom, development, prosperity, and a dignified life.

Al-Arab newspaper affirmed that Qatar's humanitarian efforts are a deeply rooted aspect of its foreign policy. These efforts reflect the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, who prioritizes supporting people in times of hardship. The newspaper highlighted Qatar's presence in the fire-stricken Syrian region as a testament to Doha's commitment to preserving human dignity above all. Humanitarian relief, it emphasized, is driven by a moral duty and living conscience rather than calculations of interest.

Al-Arab stressed that through repeated initiatives, Qatar has solidified its standing as a nation committed to humanitarian values, always ready to intervene swiftly, not for media attention, but to fulfill a steadfast humanitarian principle. The newspaper concluded by underscoring that through the Qatar International Search and Rescue Group, Qatar demonstrates its readiness to support its brothers in times of crisis.
