Qatar’s Role in International Security and Environmental Sustainability Highlighted


Doha: Al-Watan, a prominent Qatari newspaper, emphasized Qatar’s ongoing involvement in enhancing international security and peace, as the global community looks to Qatar for sustainable solutions to global crises. The editorial highlighted the significance of recent meetings between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and key international figures, such as the Head of the Government of National Unity of Libya Abdul Hamid Mohammed Al Dbeiba, and Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov. These meetings reinforce Qatar’s commitment to fostering relations with other nations and discussing regional and international developments, aiming to establish foundations for security, peace, and prosperity.



According to Qatar News Agency, The Peninsula reported on Syria’s new journey towards state-building, marked by the National Dialogue Conference in Damascus. This gathering is seen as a pivotal step towards consensus and unity, with Doha expressing support and recognizing it as crucial for establishing a state of law and institutions. Qatar’s involvement in Syria’s development and reconstruction efforts, including an air bridge providing humanitarian aid, underscores its commitment to the Syrian people’s peace and unity.



Locally, Al-Raya highlighted the emphasis on environmental issues in Qatar’s strategies, aligning with the Qatar National Vision 2030. Qatar celebrated Qatari Environment Day, reflecting its leadership in environmental protection and climate change efforts. HE Minister of Environment and Climate Change Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie underscored the day as a milestone in promoting environmental sustainability and awareness. The state has launched a National Strategy for the Environment and Climate Change, focusing on renewable energy, waste management, and a circular economy to ensure sustainability in strategic projects.
