Qatar’s Role as a Mediator Strengthens Amid International Meetings


Doha: Qatari newspapers emphasized in their editorials that Doha has become a central figure for stability and security in the Middle East, as well as a significant hub for global peace talks.



According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar’s foreign policy, which is focused on supporting international efforts to enhance regional and global stability, has bolstered its position as a reliable mediator in international issues.



The newspapers highlighted the recent meetings of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani with HE Head of the Government of National Unity of the State of Libya Abdul Hamid Mohammed Al Dbeiba and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov. These discussions revolved around bilateral cooperation and developments in regional and international issues. Qatar’s efforts in joint mediation played a crucial role in reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and addressing developments in Libya, Syria, Lebanon, and Sudan. Furthermore, Qatar’s supportive stance on international efforts to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian crisis through dialogue and diplomacy was also discussed.



Al-Arab newspaper confirmed Doha’s centrality in promoting stability and security throughout the Middle East and as a pivotal hub for peace talks globally. The newspaper noted the recent surge of international presence in Doha, reflecting global eagerness to strengthen relations with Qatar and engage in discussions on regional and international developments.



The editorial further detailed the meetings between HH the Amir and the Libyan Head of Government, which focused on enhancing bilateral relations and discussing key developments of mutual interest. Similarly, the meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister highlighted cooperation in energy and investment, alongside regional and international issues.



Al-Arab also reported on the significant meetings held by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani with HE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia Eng. Waleed bin Abdulkarim El Khereiji, and HE Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications of Bahrain Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa. These meetings focused on supporting and enhancing cooperation and bilateral relations.



Al-Sharq newspaper echoed the sentiment, stating that achieving security and stability is a primary objective for Qatar, under the leadership of HH the Amir. Qatar’s transformation of Doha into a global center for dialogue and mediation diplomacy has made it a dependable international partner.



The newspaper also referenced the Amir’s meetings, emphasizing Qatar’s leading roles in peacemaking and humanitarian efforts, including its contributions to Afghanistan, the Gaza Strip, and reuniting families affected by the Russia-Ukraine war. Qatar’s ongoing efforts and successes in these areas underscore its pivotal role in international peace and security initiatives.
