Washington: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met with HE Vice President of the United States JD Vance and HE Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent during his visit to Washington. The meetings focused on strengthening diplomatic relations and exploring opportunities for collaboration between Qatar and the United States in various sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, the State of Qatar has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). Qatar continues to host the UN Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and the Arab Region and contributes regularly to the OHCHR budget, emphasizing its role as a key supporter in fulfilling the organization's mandate.
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced that it has resolved approximately 85% of the 770 reported instances of rainwater accumulation due to recent weather conditions. Efforts are ongoing to address the remaining reports and ensure that infrastructure is prepared for future weather events.
Hamad Salem Al Nuaimi, Director of the Wildlife Protection Department and Head of the Winter Camping Committee at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), stated that the Ministry is committed to protecting the natural environment.
