Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has expressed optimism that the newly brokered Gaza ceasefire deal will pave the way for an end to aggression, devastation, and killing in the enclave and the occupied Palestinian territories. HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani announced the successful joint mediation of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States, securing a ceasefire and prisoner swap agreement between Hamas and Israel.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Prime Minister chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan, where discussions on regional peace efforts were a focal point. Additionally, he met with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Benin, Olushegun Adjadi Bakari, to discuss bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
The State of Qatar, alongside Egypt and the United States, confirmed the agreement to release hostages in exchange for prisoners, aiming to establish a sustainable calm and permanent ceasefire in the region. This diplomatic achievement underscores Qatar's commitment to regional stability.
In domestic affairs, the Ministry of Labor honored its "Partners in Success" for their contributions to enhancing the work environment in Qatar. The nation also participated in the Third High-Level Meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution in Oslo, Norway, with representatives from 90 countries and organizations attending.
The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority hosted a two-day meeting of ICAO's Air Transport Regulation Panel, with delegates from 17 member countries discussing international air transport and regulatory issues. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior's Office for People with Disabilities Affairs organized a forum to support its employees with disabilities.
On the international front, a Qatari Armed Forces plane delivered 32 tons of food aid to Damascus International Airport, provided by the Qatar Fund for Development. Additionally, Qatar hosted the Qatar-Afghanistan Joint Labour Committee Meeting, co-chaired by HE Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al-Thani and HE Mohammad Ameen Anees from Afghanistan, to discuss labor cooperation between the nations.
