Qatar’s Permanent Representative to UN Discusses Sustainable Development Goals with UN Undersecretary-General.


New york: HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations, Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani met with HE Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, Li Junhua at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between Qatar and the United Nations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030 and also touched upon preparations for the Second World Summit for Social Development, which is scheduled to take place in Doha in 2025.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in realizing the SDGs, emphasizing the shared commitment of both parties towards sustainable development. The meeting also highlighted the forthcoming summit as a significant milestone in addressing global social development challenges and fostering international dialogue on these issues.
