Qatar’s National Day Celebrated with Pardons, Diplomacy, and Traditional Festivities

Doha: In a series of events underscoring Qatar's commitment to peace and diplomacy, the nation celebrated its National Day with significant gestures including the issuance of pardons, diplomatic engagements, and traditional festivities. The day's activities highlighted the leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, who continues to position Qatar as a beacon of dialogue and stability worldwide.

According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani granted a pardon to several prisoners in honor of Qatar National Day. This gesture aligns with the nation's ongoing efforts to promote peace and reconciliation. Additionally, the Amir engaged in high-level diplomatic meetings, including a discussion with HE Secretary of Homeland Security of the United States, Kristi Noem, at Lusail Palace.

Further reflecting the spirit of the occasion, HH the Amir participated in Qatar's traditional Arda sword dance, a cultural event held at Lusail Palace's courtyard. The celebration of Qatar National Day under the slogan 'With You It Rises, From You It Awaits' emphasizes the nation's pride in its heritage and achievements.

In diplomatic developments, HH the Amir issued an Amiri Decision appointing Tariq Ali Faraj Hashim Al Ansari as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Canada. Moreover, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani engaged in discussions with US Senate and House Representatives in Washington D.C., furthering Qatar's international diplomatic endeavors.

Qatar's commitment to unity and development was echoed by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, who chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting. Meanwhile, HE Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Qatar commended the successful organization of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025, highlighting Qatar's role in fostering Arab unity through sports.

The celebration of Qatar National Day served as a reminder of the nation's history and the values instilled by its founder, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani. Officials across various sectors, including HE Minister of Commerce and Industry, HE Minister of Education and Higher Education, and HE Minister of Labor, emphasized the significance of this day in recalling the nation's achievements and ongoing dedication to progress under the wise leadership of HH the Amir.
