Qatar’s ‘My Career- My Future’ Program Enhances Student Readiness for Workforce

Doha: In its editorial, Al-Arab newspaper highlighted the impact of the 'My Career- My Future' program, orchestrated by the Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the private sector. The initiative aids students in understanding the work environment by offering them opportunities for direct exposure to professional roles and interaction with specialists, thereby boosting their preparedness for future careers.

According to Qatar News Agency, the significance of the program, which concluded recently, is rooted in its alignment with the Ministry of Labour's goals for the national localization plan "Empowering Qatar," in accordance with the Third National Development Strategy. The program familiarizes students with daily work processes, facilitates communication with specialists, and provides firsthand knowledge of professional roles, required skills, and workplace culture. This initiative supports human capital development by enhancing students' readiness for university and smoothing their transition into the labor market, while fostering early career awareness.

The program's strategy of training, guiding, and raising awareness among high school students about viable career paths empowers the upcoming generation of professionals. It allows students to directly observe real work environments in various sectors across the state, assisting them in identifying their career paths, which is a crucial step in shaping their academic and professional futures, concluded Al-Arab.
