Doha: In its editorial, Al-Raya newspaper praised the high level of national preparedness demonstrated by the educational system in the State of Qatar, which was clearly evident with the resumption of regular in-person classes after nearly a month of online learning imposed by the security developments witnessed in the region. The safe return to schools is one of the key priorities of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the paper said, noting that all public schools and kindergartens were fully prepared to receive their students, with all requirements and precautionary measures in place to ensure a safe learning environment for students and all participants in the educational process.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Raya concluded its editorial by saying that this exceptional experience has reinforced the belief that Qatar's educational system possesses the tools and expertise needed to deal efficiently with challenges and transform them into opportunities for development and innovation. Therefore, the educational process receives top-level attention in the State of Qatar, as the foundation of progress begins with education.
For its part, Al-Arab daily said that with the resumption of in-person classes yesterday, the integrated efforts of government entities became evident in providing a safe and stable school environment that ensures the continuity of the educational process with efficiency and stability. It added that the General Directorate of Civil Defense organized training workshops for school principals, their deputies, and safety and security officers in both public and private educational institutions, with around 1,200 participants. The workshops primarily aim to unify response procedures when alerts are received via the National Warning System and regulate evacuation and shelter operations to ensure the safety of students, as well as the educational and administrative workforce.
In conclusion, Al-Arab emphasized that this prior coordination reflects the State's seriousness in supporting the continuity of education under all conditions and embodies a proactive strategy that values planning and institutional organization.
In turn, English-language newspaper The Peninsula said that the State of Qatar and Ukraine share ties built on diverse partnerships which have witnessed remarkable evolution during recent years through shared visits between the leaderships of the two nations, and intensified coordination and consultation on a variety of regional and global issues. The visit of the Ukrainian President on Saturday was of great importance as it highlighted the solidarity and support Qatar enjoys from various countries of the world in light of Iranian attacks on the country and other nations of the region, the paper said.
The paper noted that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed Iranian aggression against Qatar and updates on the Ukrainian crisis, adding that the two sides stressed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts for de-escalation and to end the conflict. The two countries signed a defence cooperation agreement, covering technological cooperation, development of joint projects, defence investments, and exchange of expertise in countering missiles and drones, The Peninsula said.
