Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has taken significant diplomatic steps, sending a cable of congratulations to HE President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in celebration of the country's Independence Day. Additionally, the Amir expressed condolences to HH Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on the passing of Sheikh Fahad Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.

According to Qatar News Agency, these diplomatic gestures were echoed by the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, who also extended his congratulations and condolences to the same leaders. HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani congratulated HE Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and met with HE President of Somaliland Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro during his visit to Qatar.

The Prime Minister further engaged in international dialogue, receiving telephone calls from HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Sugiyono, and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, George Gerapetritis. The Shura Council concluded its fourth regular meeting of the First Legislative Term, with HE Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim emphasizing the importance of cooperation between legislative and executive authorities in Qatar.

HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad met with HE Vice-Minister for International Cooperation of Switzerland, Patricia Danzi, at the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development in Seville, Spain. Meanwhile, HE Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi participated in a regional meeting in Tunisia in preparation for an upcoming social development summit in Doha.

The State of Qatar voiced strong condemnation of a terrorist attack in Pakistan and expressed solidarity with Sudan following a tragic gold mine collapse. Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister, highlighted Qatar's involvement in efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue and the situation in Gaza, in collaboration with Egypt and the United States. The Shura Council also joined global parliaments in celebrating the International Day of Parliamentary Action.
