Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has been actively engaged in diplomatic communications, marking significant developments on the international front. On Sunday, he sent a congratulatory cable to HE President of Colombia Gustavo Petro, on Colombia's Independence Day anniversary. Concurrently, he extended condolences to King Salman of Saudi Arabia on the passing of HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Khalid bin Talal.

According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir also engaged in discussions with HE Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz about enhancing bilateral relations and addressing pressing regional and international issues. This reflects Qatar's ongoing commitment to strengthening ties and fostering dialogue with global partners.

HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani mirrored these diplomatic gestures by sending similar messages of congratulations and condolences to the leaders of Colombia and Saudi Arabia, respectively.

In another significant diplomatic achievement, Qatar's mediation efforts played a pivotal role in the signing of a Declaration of Principles between the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Congo River Alliance/March 23 Movement. The Federal Republic of Somalia, Egypt, and Turkiye, among others, have expressed gratitude for Qatar's facilitation in these talks, which aim to advance peace in the DRC.

Meanwhile, Qatar's Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with other ministries and organizations, has been proactive in organizing awareness workshops. These initiatives include educating workers on heat stress prevention and conducting consultations in the radiological field, underscoring the country's commitment to occupational safety and public health.

Additionally, the Ministry of Labour reported progress in electronic service delivery and field oversight, as it continues its digital transformation strategy to enhance service quality and user experience. The Ministry of Public Health has also been active in organizing workshops on licensing healthcare practitioners, reflecting a focus on improving healthcare standards.
