Qatar’s Commitment to Palestinians Unwavering Despite Israeli Stances

Doha: Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari emphasized that the State of Qatar's commitment to the Palestinian people will not be affected by any media statements, polarization, or political stances from any Israeli party. During the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' weekly media briefing on Tuesday, the Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Israeli stance will not deter the State of Qatar from supporting the brethren in the Gaza Strip, in light of what is being circulated regarding Israel's rejection of the State of Qatar's presence through its representative in the Gaza Executive Council. He stressed that Qatar's presence in this matter is not incidental or temporary, but rather reflects the State's involvement in mediation in this matter from day one.

According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Al Ansari highlighted Qatar's disregard for political or media stances from the Israeli side, adding that Doha is communicating with the American side clearly in this regard and that Qatar's role in this file is internationally welcomed. He pointed out that Israel's refusal to allow the technocratic committee and other councils to enter the Gaza Strip should be met with international pressure on the Israeli government to implement previously agreed terms within the ceasefire and the plan of US President Donald Trump.

He stressed Qatar's long-standing commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and the residents of Gaza, being involved in mediation efforts for hostage release, humanitarian aid, and the implementation of the US-led twenty-point plan. The appointment of HE Advisor to the Prime Minister for Strategic Affairs Ali Al Thawadi as Qatar's representative in the Gaza Executive Council, alongside representatives from other countries, was based on Qatar's prior ceasefire efforts and its role in agreements reached in Sharm El Sheikh under the Trump plan.

Dr. Al Ansari affirmed that Qatar's appointment to the Gaza Executive Council underlines its commitment to supporting Gaza's residents and its role within international efforts to end the conflict. He emphasized that Qatar's participation in the Gaza Peace Council will be determined collectively with global partners. Qatar has been involved in the Gaza file since day one and is a signatory to the Sharm El Sheikh agreement, contributing to its first phase's implementation.

He explained that the formation of the Peace Council, the Gaza Executive Council, and the Technocrat Committee is a collaborative international effort, spearheaded by Washington, to implement the ceasefire agreement and President Trump's plan. The issue now lies in Israel's adherence to these commitments, and international pressure is necessary to ensure compliance.

Dr. Al Ansari also addressed the obstruction of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees' (UNRWA) work by Israel, stressing Qatar's continuous support for the agency and urging international partners to safeguard its operations. He further highlighted Qatar's diplomatic efforts with the United States and Iran to prevent regional escalation, underscoring Qatar's commitment to diplomatic solutions for conflicts.

Regarding the Syrian situation, Dr. Al Ansari welcomed the integration agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian National Army as a positive step toward stability, emphasizing Qatar's support for Syria on economic and political fronts.

The briefing also covered recent diplomatic activities by Qatar's leadership, including engagements with regional and international counterparts to address regional tensions and developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.
