Qatar’s Commitment to Education and Peace Stressed at Doha Forum 2025

Doha: He Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi emphasized Qatar's belief that just and sustainable peace is fundamental to safeguarding rights, particularly the right to education. In his speech during the "Education as Justice in Times of Crisis" session at the Doha Forum 2025, He highlighted the severe decline in global peace indicators since World War II.

According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Al Khulaifi pointed out that the Global Peace Index reveals escalating geopolitical tensions, increasingly complex and prolonged conflicts, Heightened civilian danger, and narrowing paths to resolution and recovery. He underscored the plight of education systems in regions like Gaza, Syria, and Sudan, wHere they suffer not only from poverty but also from violence, displacement, and destruction, which aim to weaken communities fundamentally.

Dr. Al Khulaifi stated that Qatar's efforts in mediation and conflict resolution save lives, stabilize communities, and preserve education. He emphasized the interconnectedness of justice and education, noting that restoring education is essential for societal rebuilding.

He further asserted that Qatar's initiatives highlight education as a right that upholds justice and embodies shared humanity, requiring coordinated global action. He urged viewing education as a peace pillar and international cooperation rather than merely a service.

Concluding, Dr. Al Khulaifi stressed the need to confront global conflict realities affecting educational systems and align commitments with actions rooted in justice, peace, and prosperity for all.
