Qatar’s Anti-Corruption Award Highlights Global Leadership and Strengthens Ties with Costa Rica.


Doha: In its recent editorial, Al-Raya newspaper highlighted the significance of the HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award as a testament to Qatar’s leadership in promoting good governance, transparency, and authentic Qatari values. The award is seen as a powerful tool in empowering justice and eradicating corruption, which poses a major threat to the progress and welfare of nations.

According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir’s personal involvement in presenting the award underscores his commitment to recognizing global efforts against corruption and crime. This year’s ceremony was hosted by Costa Rica, acknowledging its ongoing efforts to combat corruption. The award, presented in collaboration with the United Nations, not only celebrates best practices in anti-corruption but also serves as a global message of solidarity for those fighting corruption. It emphasizes that leaders like HH the Amir, along with international organizations, support these efforts to pro
tect society and uphold rights.

The English-language newspaper, The Peninsula, noted the concurrent celebration of 20 years of diplomatic relations between Qatar and Costa Rica, and 14 years since Costa Rica established its first embassy in the region in Doha. HH the Amir’s visit to Costa Rica marks a significant moment in this partnership, highlighted by the signing of multiple agreements and memoranda of understanding in areas such as trade, culture, sports, health, and diplomacy. These agreements are set to deepen the partnership, fostering cooperation and development that transcends borders.
