Doha: The Al Raya newspaper affirmed that the State of Qatar continues to solidify its status as an influential international actor through its active presence at major global events and forums. The paper noted that Qatar's international role is no longer limited to observation or reaction, but has evolved into a genuine partnership in shaping visions and approaches related to global security, peace, and stability.
According to Qatar News Agency, in its editorial on Saturday, titled "Qatar... An Active International Presence," the paper stated that Qatar does not settle for the role of a bystander. Instead, it has harnessed its diplomacy to engage positively with international developments, earning significant global respect and becoming a pivotal player in international politics, alongside its esteemed humanitarian contributions.
The editorial noted that the participation of the State of Qatar in the Munich Security Conference (MSC) 2026 - one of the world's most prominent platforms for strategic and security issues - embodies this advanced approach, adding that HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani attended the conference opening, carrying a Qatari vision centered on the priority of diplomacy and dialogue, favoring political solutions over the logic of conflict and escalation.
In this context, the paper noted that His Excellency held a series of meetings with several international officials to discuss enhancing cooperation and developments regarding international issues of common concern.
The editorial emphasized that Qatar's presence at MSC 2026, which addresses highly sensitive files including regional stability, crises in the international system, the war in Gaza, European security, energy security, and technological challenges, reflects a deep Qatari understanding of the current international moment. This moment is characterized by overlapping crises and a desperate global need for parties capable of building bridges rather than deepening divisions.
The paper further noted that Qatar's focus on energy security as a pillar of global stability stems from its vision of strengthening international partnerships and securing sustainable supplies. This approach serves the interests of both producing and consuming nations, simultaneously enhancing economic and security stability.
The daily highlighted that Qatari diplomacy is driven by a firm belief that mediation, dialogue, and peaceful settlements are no longer secondary options but an absolute necessity in a world of increasing flashpoints and transboundary risks. It pointed out that Qatar has proven, through its multifaceted roles, its ability to effectively contribute to establishing peace and security, backed by political credibility and a balanced network of international relations.
Al Raya concluded its editorial by stating that Qatar's active presence in such high-level platforms remains a model for responsible diplomacy, one that believes in multilateralism, defends dialogue, and strives for a more cooperative and just international order.
