Qatari Newspapers Highlight Strategic Talks and Humanitarian Efforts in Sudan


Doha: In their Wednesday editorials, Qatari newspapers underscored the official talks held on Tuesday between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of Sudan, Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Al Burhan.



According to Qatar News Agency, these discussions highlighted Qatar’s ongoing support for Sudan through humanitarian and development initiatives, aligning with its foreign policy that prioritizes people and links political stability with improved living conditions.



Al-Raya newspaper emphasized that the Qatari-Sudanese relations are founded on cooperation and mutual support, reinforced by years of political communication and joint coordination. The talks between HH the Amir and Lt. Gen. Al Burhan reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to supporting Sudan during a critical phase, requiring collective efforts to maintain its security, stability, and unity. The newspaper noted that these bilateral meetings demonstrate a shared perspective on Sudan’s developments and the significance of international efforts in achieving peace and preserving Sudan’s sovereignty.



Al-Raya also highlighted Qatar’s consistent support for Sudan, which has spanned political, humanitarian, and developmental domains. This support arises from a conviction in the importance of Sudan’s stability and its impact on regional security. The newspaper detailed Qatar’s humanitarian assistance, which has alleviated Sudanese suffering, alongside development projects aimed at fostering stability in the medium and long term.



Al-Sharq newspaper echoed these sentiments, stating that the talks illustrated HH the Amir’s dedication to enhancing cooperative relations between Qatar and Sudan. The newspaper stressed Qatar’s leadership in supporting regional and international efforts to end the war in Sudan and achieve a peaceful resolution that preserves the country’s unity and serves its people’s interests.



In conclusion, Al-Sharq highlighted Qatar’s continued humanitarian role amid Sudan’s ongoing crisis. A joint aid ship with Turkiye, carrying 2,428 metric tons of assistance, was dispatched as part of Qatar’s humanitarian response to the worsening conditions in Sudan.
