Doha: The editorials of Qatari newspapers today focused on the participation of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani in the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit-Commissioned Ministerial Committee Meeting held yesterday in Antalya, Republic of Turkiye.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Raya newspaper noted the Prime Minister's reaffirmation of Qatar's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. The editorial emphasized the importance of international legitimacy and the two-state solution, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. The newspaper urged the global community to pressure the occupying force to cease its actions against Palestinians, particularly in the Gaza Strip, which has endured severe hardships since October 2023.
Al-Raya further stated that the war crimes in Gaza and Palestinian territories would not diminish the resolve of the Palestinian people. It criticized the Israeli government's approach to negotiations, asserting that its unrealistic demands would only prolong the conflict and strengthen the extremist elements within the Israeli government.
In parallel, Al-Sharq newspaper reiterated Qatar's commitment to supporting regional and international efforts for stability. It underscored the country's belief in resolving disputes through peaceful means that contribute to global peace and security.
The newspaper also highlighted the significance of the Prime Minister's participation in the expanded ministerial committee meeting on Gaza, which included representatives from the European Union, the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, the Kingdom of Norway, the Republic of Slovenia, and the Kingdom of Spain. Al-Sharq emphasized Qatar's dedication to sustainable solutions for regional crises and its efforts to protect civilians, alleviate suffering, and promote multilateral cooperation for regional prosperity.
