Doha: Qatari newspapers focused their editorials Thursday on HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s visit to the Republic of Costa Rica, noting its contribution to strengthening Qatar’s position and expansion in its strategic partnerships with Latin American countries in various fields, serving common interests, goals, and ambitions, and opening new markets and horizons for the Qatari economy and investments.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers also highlighted the State of Qatar’s chairing of the 41st meeting of Their Highnesses and Excellencies, the GCC Ministers of Interior, which aimed to enhance joint Gulf security work and contribute to successfully dealing with developments and challenges facing security agencies.
Al-Watan newspaper remarked that HH the Amir held an official talks session with HE President of the Republic of Costa Rica Rodrigo Chaves Robles, during which bilateral relations and ways to support and develop them were reviewed. They also discussed the most prominent re
gional and international developments of common interest, especially developments in Gaza, the occupied Palestinian territories, and Lebanon.
The newspaper emphasized that HH the Amir’s visit represents a milestone in these relations in terms of strengthening the partnership between the two countries and pushing it towards broader horizons. It also noted the selection of Costa Rica to host the Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award, highlighting the efforts of both countries to enhance transparency and combat corruption, contributing to sustainable development and strengthening international partnerships in this field.
Al-Watan concluded by pointing out that several agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed between the two countries in areas including trade, culture, sports, and health, among others, all contributing to the development of bilateral relations in a way that serves both countries and their peoples.
