Doha: Qatari newspapers focused on several local and Arab topics in their Thursday editorials, the most important of which was the phone call HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received from HM King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, the occupied Palestinian territories, and Syria, as well as regional and international developments of mutual concern.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers unanimously agreed that the State of Qatar stands with the countries of the region and fully supports the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land and their adherence to their legitimate rights in accordance with international law. Doha has repeatedly reiterated its rejection of any infringement on the inalienable rights of the Palestinians, whether through settlement activities, expulsion, annexation of land, or the displacement of their owners, under any circumstances and under any pretext.
In another matter, the newspapers covered the activities of the 12th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition 2025, which began two days ago, and which will contribute to supporting agricultural development and food security projects, achieving self-sufficiency, and enhancing environmental protection in Qatar.
Al-Watan newspaper noted that Qatar has proven over decades its firm commitment to supporting Arab cooperation and strengthening ties between Arab countries, through its firm stance in siding with the just causes of the peoples, and providing the required support to every Arab country. The State's continuous efforts in supporting Arab issues elevated Qatar to a remarkable position at the regional and international levels, making it a model to be emulated in supporting the issues of the nation.
In this context, HH the Amir reviewed with HM King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan the fraternal relations between the two countries in a phone call received by HH the Amir on Wednesday from HM the King, the newspaper pointed out. During the call, they also reviewed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, the occupied Palestinian territories, and Syria, as well as regional and international developments of mutual concern.
Al-Watan concluded its editorial by pointing out that the developments witnessed by the region require the highest levels of cooperation and coordination in order to establish a unified position that would confront the serious challenges facing this region, and hope is pinned on building a position that would overcome these challenges, for the good of the countries of the region and their people.
In turn, Al-Sharq newspaper stated that Qatar continues to make diplomatic efforts to ensure the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza in all its stages and provisions, leading to a complete peace that guarantees the access of humanitarian support to all parts of the Gaza Strip, and the removal of all obstacles to the entry of all humanitarian and shelter aid and requirements for recovery and sustainable calm, leading to reconstruction, while preventing any form of displacement of Palestinians from their land.
