In its editorial entitled “Qatar… Leader in Logistics Services,” Al-Raya said the great attention that the State of Qatar has given to the logistics services sector has resulted in Qatar leading the logistics market in the region, as it is the main nerve center of most production and service activities.
The logistics sector in Qatar has seen remarkable growth in recent years. The country has been able to achieve qualitative and exceptional achievements in this regard, and to improve its logistics services chain by developing the infrastructure of these services and improving their efficiency, thus facilitating the flow of goods and services inside and outside the country, and reducing total costs for various economic sectors, Al-Raya said.
In this context, Al-Raya pointed to the Ministry of Transport’s emphasis that it is working to implement the national strategy for the logistics sector (transportation and storage Sector) 2024-2030. The Ministry reviewed the objectives of the strategy, which include co
nsolidating Qatar’s position as a global logistics hub, supporting economic diversification, and ensuring the lowest cost and time for investors and traders, which in turn contributes to enhancing the State’s competitiveness and integration with regional and global markets.
The significant development in the services and logistics sector is attributed to the four pillars on which the Ministry of Transports strategy is based, namely creating and attracting trade flows, modernizing local logistics services, facilitating cross-border operations and transit shipping, and establishing a work structure that ensures effective governance and coordination within this vital sector, Al-Raya concluded.
English newspaper, The Peninsula, noted in its editorial the situation in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, criticizing the world’s silence on the crimes committed by the Israeli entity, which left hundreds of civilians killed and injured, including children and women.
Under the deadline “Time to Act Now,” The Peninsula said
the Israeli occupation forces yesterday bombed a UNRWA school in the Gaza Strip, which shelters thousands of displaced civilians, killing 25 Palestinians and injuring 150 others, giving least regard to international laws and conventions.
The Israeli forces have been suffocating the people in Gaza with brutal assault and by not allowing any aid to reach the people. They have given scant regard to calls from various world bodies and leaders for a ceasefire. The occupiers are trying to starve the people of the Gaza Strip into death or submission by denying entry for basic aid materials, the paper warned.
Reality is brutal in Gaza, and it gets worse every day, as the bombs continue to fall, as fierce fighting continues unabated, and as supplies essential for peoples survival and humanitarian assistance are blocked at every turn. The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification Initiative or IPC has released a report that states that over 1.8 million people, or around 86% of Gazas population, are experiencing c
risis levels of hunger, defined as Phase 3 or higher on the IPCs five-point scale. Some 133,000 people, or around 6%, are at Phase 5, the highest level, known as catastrophic hunger, the paper added.
Only strong and unified action from the world bodies and countries will stop this genocide by Israel and stop the region from spiralling into further turmoil, The Peninsula stressed.
