Doha: Qatari newspapers have strongly criticized the recent actions by Israeli forces at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling them unacceptable and an affront to Muslim sentiments worldwide.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Raya newspaper, in its editorial titled "Israeli Provocation at Al-Aqsa Mosque Unacceptable," highlighted that the Israeli occupation, with the backing of extremist ministers and settlers, continues to violate the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa compound. The editorial underscored Qatar's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of Palestinians, including the right to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, along the 1967 borders.
Al-Raya further emphasized that attempts by Israel and non-Muslims to claim the mosque are bound to fail, dismissing these claims as false. The newspaper maintained that such provocative practices at one of the holiest sites for Muslims are doomed to failure.
Similarly, Al-Sharq newspaper, under the headline "The Attack on Al-Aqsa is an Insult to the Islamic Nation," condemned the actions of the Israeli Minister of National Security, supported by occupation police, who stormed the mosque, evicting worshippers, and bombed a clinic associated with the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Jabalia camp, Gaza. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar warned about the repercussions of these violations and urged the international community to confront such repeated attacks on civilian facilities and to protect civilians and humanitarian workers.
In another editorial, Al-Arab newspaper reiterated Qatar's strong stance against the aggression and its support for UNRWA. It praised Qatar's commitment to the Palestinian cause and highlighted its significant financial contributions to Gaza's infrastructure and humanitarian efforts. Since the onset of the crisis, Qatar has played a crucial mediating role and has consistently supported UNRWA's work in the region.
