Doha: Qatari newspapers on Thursday addressed several pressing local and international issues, prominently focusing on Israel's continued provocative actions against the Palestinian people and the assault on Islamic holy sites, particularly Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan, as well as the visit of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani to Caracas, Venezuela, for talks with HE Acting President of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Raya editorial emphasized that the Israeli occupation authorities escalate crimes and provocations against Palestinians and Muslims globally by assaulting Islamic sites, such as Al-Aqsa Mosque, during Ramadan. It highlighted the extended duration of settlers' incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque by an additional hour, marking a dangerous escalation impacting the mosque's historical and legal status quo. The editorial called these actions a provocation to Muslims worldwide and urged the international community to act courageously and fairly to halt these crimes.
Al-Sharq newspaper focused on the significance of the Prime Minister's visit to Caracas, underscoring the commitment of Qatar and Venezuela to constructive dialogue and cooperative relations. It highlighted the historic ties between the two nations, extending over five decades, based on mutual respect and common interests. The visit was seen as a message supporting Venezuela's stability and Qatar's intent to build a strong economic partnership, especially considering both countries' potential in the global energy market.
