Qatari Leadership Praised for Role in Ending Gaza Conflict

Doha: Qatari newspapers on Tuesday highlighted the significant roles played by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani over the past two years to end the war in Gaza, alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Strip, and reach this historic moment 'through cooperation with mediators' culminating in the Sharm El-Sheikh peace summit and its positive outcomes.

According to Qatar News Agency, in articles by their editors-in-chief, the newspapers affirmed that the State of Qatar played its role with diplomatic intelligence and rare moral courage. The entire world, its leaders, and peoples, witnessed the positions adopted by His Highness and the efforts HH undertook to stop the genocide faced by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, which culminated in the announcement of the end of the war and the easing of suffering for the people of Gaza.

Al-Arab newspaper stated that the State of Qatar has emerged as an honest and effective mediator under the leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, with a humanitarian vision, noting that HH the Amir is a leader who believes that dialogue is more powerful than weapons, and that every human being, regardless of place, color, or belief, deserves care and dignity.

Amid a war that ravaged Gaza, leading up to the Sharm El-Sheikh peace summit attended by leaders from across the Arab, Islamic, and Western worlds, the State of Qatar played its role with diplomatic intelligence and moral courage, the paper said, pointing out that Doha did not enter the scene simply to join the list of mediators; rather, it came to write a new chapter in its central role as a peace broker committed solely to truth, justice, and restoring life and dignity to those affected.

The newspaper mentioned that US President Donald Trump praised His Highness the Amir as an exceptional and brave leader, noting that this was recognition of efforts that made a difference in one of the region's most complex crises. Doha, it emphasized, put forward initiatives to broker a ceasefire, evacuate the wounded, and deliver humanitarian aid, fulfilling a responsibility grounded in the belief that true power lies in saving lives.

In conclusion, Al-Arab stated that at this critical moment, Doha is helping to write the chapters of peace, led by a leader who believes that human life is more valuable than political interests. History will remember HH the Amir as a man who always stood with the vulnerable and the besieged, and the State of Qatar-its leadership and its people-will remain committed to the path of peace and resolving crises through peaceful means.

In an article by its editor-in-chief, Al-Sharq newspaper stated that history will remember the efforts made by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to end the war in Gaza, relieve the suffering of the people in the Strip, and help reach this historic moment.

The paper underlined that the world today speaks openly about the efforts made by HH the Amir, the positions he adopted, and the initiatives he led to stop the genocide suffered by the people in Gaza. These efforts resulted in the announcement of a ceasefire and the alleviation of suffering for the people of Gaza.

The newspaper noted that under the leadership of His Highness, the State of Qatar made efforts over 730 days to stop the war on Gaza. Through his wisdom, strong will, and determination, HH succeeded in reaching the desired peace, despite challenges and obstacles. Qatar managed the negotiation file alongside its mediation partners Egypt, the United States, and Turkiye with a calm policy, the paper added.

The paper also affirmed that what His Highness accomplished will be recorded in Arab history, noting that since the outbreak of the war on Gaza, His Highness led efforts to stop the killing and destruction, leading to an agreement to end the war on Gaza witnessed at the Sharm El-Sheikh summit.

Al-Sharq concluded that the Qatari diplomacy, under the guidance of HH the Amir, is a model to be studied for its approach to mediation, and its ability to overcome challenges and obstacles. Over the two years of war, Qatari diplomacy faced attempts to undermine its efforts to end the conflict in Gaza. But these challenges did not deter Qatar from continuing its efforts, in cooperation with Egypt, the United States, and Turkiye, to stop the war. Qatar succeeded in overcoming obstacles that confronted the mediation efforts.
