Qatari Editorials Condemn Regional Escalations and Emphasize Importance of Talent Development and Family in Education

Doha: In its editorial, Al-Sharq newspaper condemned the Israeli entity's escalation of its attacks across the region, from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank and even Lebanon and Syria. Yesterday saw a further escalation in Israeli airstrikes on the Lebanese front, with operations extending beyond southern Lebanon to areas north of the Litani region and into the western Bekaa. Reports suggest intentions to reignite war in Lebanon, alongside continued incursions into southern Syria and renewed threats to strike Iran, developments that collectively risk triggering a broader regional crisis.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Sharq considered that, despite ceasefire agreements, the Israeli entity is expanding its raids on Lebanon and escalating its policy of using lethal force in the Gaza Strip by opening fire on Palestinian civilians near the so-called "yellow line" or those living in its vicinity. Since the ceasefire began in October, the number of martyrs in Gaza has exceeded 420 Palestinians, including 151 children and 60 women, violating the ceasefire agreement intended to ensure a halt to hostilities, protect civilians, and create conditions for residents to return to their areas. Al-Sharq concluded its editorial by urging the international community and parties guaranteeing the ceasefire agreements to compel the Israeli entity to fulfill its obligations and not exploit the international community's focus on events in Venezuela and remarks by US President Donald Trump.

In another editorial, The Peninsula highlighted the upgraded 'Kawader' platform as a significant development in Qatar's approach to employment, talent development, and national workforce planning. The platform's use of artificial intelligence and its shift in philosophy to treat employment as a lifelong journey is noteworthy. By prioritizing competencies over rigid job titles, the platform addresses today's labor market realities, where adaptability and transferable skills matter more. This approach could unlock opportunities for jobseekers previously overlooked under traditional recruitment models. Kawader's role in training and career pathways within government entities addresses the challenge of retaining national talent, ensuring clear progression routes and professional development opportunities for skilled Qataris. The enhanced platform is more than a technological upgrade; it represents a strategic investment in human capital, aligning with Qatar's development agenda focused on growth, fairness, and em powerment.

Al-Arab newspaper focused on the start of the second academic term, emphasizing the family's role as the foundation of the educational process. The editorial stressed that responsibility begins at home, with the family as a key partner in educational success. The establishment of parents' councils has led to greater parental involvement, with parents actively engaging in their children's classroom experiences. Al-Arab concluded that many parents bear responsibility for raising their children's awareness of the importance of regular attendance throughout the school term.
