Doha: HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Than chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at the Amiri Diwan, as reported by the Qatar News Agency. During the session, the Cabinet praised the cooperation between legislative and executive authorities, noting the significant achievements made at the legislative level, which have been beneficial to the nation and its citizens.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet reviewed several important draft laws across economic, social, and cultural fields, aligning with the nation's growth under the leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy. The Cabinet congratulated HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani on receiving the Tipperary International Peace Award, highlighting Qatar's influential role in world peace.
The Cabinet also welcomed the peace agreement between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which began with a meeting in Doha. Qatari diplomatic efforts, complemented by the United States, were instrumental in achieving this agreement, which aims to enhance security in the Great Lakes region.
The Council of Ministers considered several topics on its agenda, including Shura Council approvals of draft laws related to money laundering, the Lawyers Law, and the import of rough diamonds. A draft law to enhance national statistics and data systems was also discussed, aiming to improve data quality and governance.
The Cabinet approved draft decisions related to real estate registration and digital project committees, and reviewed proposals on agricultural support mechanisms. It also took steps towards ratifying various international agreements, including an Air Transport Agreement with the UAE and cooperation in fisheries research with China.
The meeting concluded with reviews of Qatar's participation in international conferences, focusing on environmental and sustainable development issues, with appropriate decisions made regarding these involvements.
