Doha: In a significant development, Al-Arab newspaper reported that QatarEnergy has successfully completed a farm-in transaction with Eni, acquiring a 40% participating interest in the North Rafah exploration block offshore the Arab Republic of Egypt. This move underscores Qatar's growing influence in the global energy sector, further solidifying its capacity to engage in strategic projects aimed at advancing clean energy solutions through international partnerships.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Arab emphasized QatarEnergy's commitment to sustainable development, as reflected in its slogan, 'Your Energy Transition Partner'. The company adheres to high standards of sustainable human, social, economic, and environmental development.

Meanwhile, Al-Sharq newspaper highlighted the strong condemnation from Qatar's Shura Council against recent legislative actions by the Israeli Knesset. During its session under the leadership of Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, the council criticized the approval of two draft bills by the Israeli legislature that seek to impose illegal sovereignty over the occupied West Bank and a settlement east of Jerusalem. The council described this as a dangerous escalation that threatens international legitimacy and peace efforts.

The Shura Council called upon the Inter-Parliamentary Union and global parliaments to take a unified stance against these violations by Israel. It also urged for action to stop settlement expansion and reiterated support for the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Al-Sharq elaborated on the council's call, citing international law and UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution No. 2334, and the advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on the illegality of Israeli occupation and settlement activities.

The newspaper also highlighted Doha's commitment to human development, exemplified by the UNESCO Learning City Award, which recognizes the city's success in promoting inclusive education and lifelong learning. This achievement strengthens Doha's social fabric and technological infrastructure.
