Manama: The Qatari volleyball team qualified for the West Asian Volleyball Championship final after a deserved 3-0 victory over Oman. The Qatari team completely dominated the match, winning in three consecutive sets (25-18, 25-19, 25-20).
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari team had previously reached the semi-finals of the tournament, currently being held in the Bahraini capital, Manama, after defeating its Lebanese counterpart by the same score (3-0), in sets (25-17, 25-15, 25-13).
The Qatari team delivered a remarkable performance during its match against Oman, imposing its control over the game thanks to their technical cohesion and tactical discipline, confirming their great ambition to reach the final and compete strongly for the title of the first edition of this regional championship.
The Qatari national team qualified for the quarter-finals after topping Group B with three consecutive wins. They began their campaign with a 3-0 victory over Saudi Arabia, followed by a 3-1 victory over Oman, before concluding the group stage with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Kuwait in an exciting and competitive match.
Thanks to this impressive performance, the Qatari team topped their group with 8 points, cementing their position as one of the favorites to win the title, after the team demonstrated a high level of technical skill and outstanding team spirit throughout the tournament.
The Qatari team will face the winner of the match between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in the final, which will be held this evening. This is the first edition of the West Asian Volleyball Championship. It was launched with the aim of enhancing competition between national teams in the region and raising the technical level of the game, under the supervision of the West Asian Volleyball Federation, chaired by Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari.
