Qatar University Concludes Series of Interactive Workshops on Mental Well-Being and Faith


Doha: Student Housing and Residential Life Department at Qatar University (QU), in collaboration with the Student Counseling Center and the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, organized a series of interactive workshops aimed at highlighting the connection between mental well-being and faith. These workshops encouraged participants to explore the roots of their psychological struggles and understand their causes. The events also provided effective strategies for achieving psychological and spiritual balance through an integrated scientific and religious approach.



According to Qatar News Agency, as part of the university’s ongoing commitment to supporting students and fostering a balanced academic environment, the workshops introduced effective strategies for achieving psychological and spiritual harmony. They adopted an integrated approach that combined scientific and religious perspectives, drawing strong engagement from students who actively participated in the discussions within a supportive and stimulating environment. The sessions were led by a distinguished group of specialists and academics in psychological counseling and Islamic studies.



On this occasion, Director of the Student Housing and Residential Life Department at QU, Kholoud Al Hammadi, emphasized the university’s dedication to providing a balanced residential environment that supports students’ academic and personal development. These initiatives align with their continuous efforts to enhance students’ psychological and spiritual well-being, ultimately enriching their university experience and life skills.



At the conclusion of the workshops, experts provided practical recommendations for achieving inner peace, emphasizing self-awareness, leveraging faith-based values to navigate psychological stress, and implementing effective strategies to enhance resilience and address life’s challenges in a balanced and rational manner.



In a separate event, Qatar University successfully wrapped up its “Hand in Hand for Sustainable Agriculture in Qatar” initiative. Organized by the University Core Curriculum Program at the Deanship of General Studies, in collaboration with the Volunteer and Community Service Section and Qatar Charity, the initiative saw strong student participation.



The event showcased 47 projects and research posters presented by students enrolled in Leadership and Innovation, Community Engagement, and Service-Learning courses. The projects addressed various aspects of sustainable agriculture and highlighted the role of community work and innovation in advancing environmental sustainability.



Commenting on the initiative, Dean of General Studies at Qatar University, Dr. Saba Qazi, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to fostering environmental awareness and instilling a sense of social responsibility among students. She noted that Qatar University continuously strives to integrate academic knowledge with practical application, equipping students with the skills needed to tackle environmental challenges.



This initiative reflects Qatar University’s ongoing dedication to supporting projects that raise environmental awareness and promote sustainable agriculture, aligning with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
