Qatar University Book Fair to Kick Off Early February with Diverse Participations

Doha: The Ministry of Culture announced the launch date for the third edition of the Qatar University (QU) Book Fair, which will be held during the period of Feb. 1-5 at the Student Affairs building 111 on the QU campus.

According to Qatar News Agency, the exhibition is held within the framework of joint cultural cooperation between the Ministry of Culture - represented by the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum, and Qatar University - represented by QU Press. The aim is to support the local publishing movement, promote a culture of reading, and provide the latest scientific and cultural publications to students, researchers, and the public.

The exhibition will feature 45 publishing houses, including 9 foreign academic publishing houses from Kuwait, UAE, and the US. Several local entities, most notably the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) and the National Archives of Qatar, will also participate. This range of participants reflects the intellectual diversity and cultural enrichment that the exhibition offers to its visitors.

The QU Book Fair serves as an important platform that enhances communication between publishing houses and readers, supports scientific research, and consolidates the role of books as a primary means of knowledge. This aligns with the Ministry of Culture's commitment to supporting cultural and knowledge initiatives that benefit both the academic community and the general public.
