Qatar Triumphs Over Saudi Arabia in West Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship

Doha: Qatar's volleyball team secured a decisive 25-18, 25-19, 25-14 victory over Saudi Arabia in the inaugural edition of the West Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, currently hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain. The tournament sees participation from eight teams.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari team is set to face Oman in their next match, with plans to conclude the first round against Kuwait on the upcoming Monday. This championship is organized under Group B, which includes Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Kuwait, highlighting intense regional competition.

Group A includes Bahrain, the host nation, alongside teams from the UAE, Jordan, and Lebanon. The West Asia Volleyball Association spearheads the tournament as part of its mission to enhance the sport's development and foster regional competition. This initiative seeks to establish a regular continental tournament platform, providing national teams with increased opportunities for high-level match experience and talent development.
