Qatar TotalEnergies Director Praises Renovation of Khalifa International Tennis Complex, Tournament’s Excellence

Doha: Executive Director of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation and Tournament Director of the Qatar TotalEnergies Open, Saad Al Mohannadi, affirmed that the development witnessed at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex contributes to achieving global excellence for the tournament.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Mohannadi said that the complex had undergone numerous renovation and development works, including the main stadium, side courts, and the fan village, helping present the international complex in the best possible image. He added that a new court with a full grandstand had been introduced, serving as a prelude to an additional new court scheduled to be inaugurated next year in 2027.

He also noted that the latest studies had been applied regarding crowd movement and ways to attract spectators, along with several other enhancements contributing to organizational excellence at all levels. Al Mohannadi continued by saying that a new stage had also been introduced to host live performances for fans, the players' lounge area had been completely renovated, and a new outdoor open-air gym had been established, which received praise from the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).

He said that this reflects the significant development at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, expressing pride in these achievements and looking forward to continued success. Concluding his remarks to QNA, the Tournament Director of the Qatar TotalEnergies Open emphasized that the tournament's ongoing success reflects the substantial efforts made to present a distinguished image of Qatar's globally recognized organizational capabilities, and to reinforce the annual success of the event, which holds a special status in women's world tennis.
