Doha: Qatar's national beach volleyball team is set to compete in the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Beach Tour Pingtung Open, which will be held in Chinese Taipei from July 17 to 20. The tournament is expected to feature some of Asia's strongest teams, providing a challenging platform for the participants.
According to Qatar News Agency, the national delegation will comprise two teams: Qatar 1, featuring the duo Saif Al Majid and Mahmoud Essam, and Qatar 2, with the pair Mehdi Samoud and Mahmoud Essam. The delegation departed from Doha on Monday, led by Mohammad Anbar Al Nasser, a member of the Qatar Volleyball Association's Beach Volleyball Committee.
The tournament will see 24 teams from across Asia competing, including top-ranked teams from Australia, Thailand, and Japan. This high-level competition is anticipated to be fiercely contested, highlighting the skill and strategic play of the participating teams.
Qatar's involvement in the tournament aligns with the Qatar Volleyball Association's strategic plan to enhance the national squad's readiness for future continental and international events. The participation also reflects the Association's vision to advance beach volleyball in Qatar and provide its players with exposure to competitive tournaments at the highest levels.
